Spectacular scenes, recently shot by drone camera, show a bird’s eye view of the journey taken by trains on the five mile track to the summit of Wales’ highest peak. You can see the amazing footage here.
Snowdon Mountain Railway has really taken advantage of the great weather this summer to show the mountain off at its best. The video was made for the railway by CameraDroneUK.com who shot the footage using a drone camera to follow the two heritage carriages and steam locomotives from Llanberis to the summit.
Services run throughout the summer from Llanberis Station to the Summit Station, where visitors can walk the short distance to the highest point in Wales and England, 3,560ft or 1,085 metres above sea level.
Common in Alpine Europe the Snowdon Mountain Railway is the only public rack and pinion railway in the United Kingdom and remains a popular tourist attraction, carrying more than 130,000 passengers annually.Back to Recent News
